Government now treats deported Dominicans ‘more humanely’

Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Domínguez on Friday received the 4th group 50 Dominican deportees from the United States, who served time on convictions for various crimes.

He said the ex convicts will undergo a social reintegration process, including training programs and the chance to take part in job fairs.

Domínguez, who created the special unit, said around 1,730 deportees have been reintegrated in just eight months, provided with support and follow-up, to in his view, make their return to the country more humanely.

The group was received at the Justice Ministry by officials of the reintegration unit, who detailed the work carried out to achieve their effective reintegration to family and social life.

Dominicans deportees can get help from the program by calling 809-480-0229.
