‘Ukraine crisis’ scrubs Joe Biden’s trip to Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Government on Sunday said of his Vice President’ that Joe Biden s visit to the Dominican Republic scheduled for Wednesday has been suspended, the Foreign Ministry announced.

In a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, Washington said the events unfolding in Ukraine require Biden’s immediate return from Chile and shorten his visit, including attending President Michelle Bachelet’ inaugural Tuesday.

On his return Biden was scheduled to stop in Santo Domingo and meet with president Danilo Medina, among other activities.
