Agents kill three Haitians at gas station heist(Update)

Cotui, Dominican Republic.- Local media reports that the two assailants who survived escaped in an unidentified vehile. The two agents injured will reportedly recover.
FILE.The National Police on Friday announced an investigation into the death of three alleged robbers gunned down by agents at a gas station in Cotuí (northeast).
Police spokesman Jacobo Mateo Moquete said the attempted heist occurred 10pm Thursday when officers arrived at an Isla station to buy fuel, right at the time five gunmen tried to flee the scene after the assault.
The three assailants killed are Haitian nationals, while the other two were apprehended, one of which was carrying a Haitian passport, according to Domingo Marte, father of one of the agents injured, interviewed on the Zol de la Mañana radio program .
Local media report that one of the assailants was identified as Haitian national Jhon Marcos Vibrun, 21.
