Medina to head World Environment Day event at wetlands

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina will head the main events to mark World Environment Day today Thursday , slated for the Ozama Wetlands National Park, Santo Domingo Este.

Environment minister Bautista Rojas will deliver the keynote speech in the activity.

Since 1973 World Environment Day is celebrated every June 5, established by UN General Assembly resolution 2994 of December 15, 1972, to kick off the Conference of Stockholm, Sweden, whose main topic was the environment.
