Espaillat closes campaign for seat in U.S. Congress

Santo Domingo.- New York State senator Adriano Espaillat on Saturday closed his campaign for the seat in the 13th Congressional District, with a march-caravan along several streets in Upper Manhattan where he showed the strength of his base.

Top Democratic Party leaders of Manhattan and the Bronx accompanied the Dominican-born lawmaker in the in the march that lasted more than four hours.

Espaillat was cheered by thousands of supporters from sidewalks, businesses, apartments and passing vehicles.

The caravan set off around 1pm from Broadway Av. corner of 135th St. along several avenues and ended at Espaillat’s campaign headquarters at Sherman Av. and 207th St.
