Widely scattered showers, high temps, Sahara sand

Santo Domingo.- The National Weather Office (Onamet) forecasts widely scattered showers and occasional thunderstorm Monday afternoon and early evening, from the moisture dragged by the prevailing east-southeast wind.

It said the showers will be more frequent over the Southwest, Southeast, border area and Central Mountains.

Onamet said there’s a low probability of precipitation for the next 24 to 48 hours, with continuing seasonably-high temperatures as high as 35 degrees Celsius.

"Today the country can expect a higher concentration of airborne dust from the Sahara, for which the sky will become opaque and slightly hazy," Onamet said.
