Record number of convicts, fugitives extradited to the U.S.

Justice minister Francisco Domínguez on Wednesday announced the extradition of 15 people wanted in the United States, within in the next 72 hours
Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Domínguez on Wednesday announced the extradition of 15 people wanted in the United States, within in the next 72 hours.
The figure is the highest number of convicts and fugitives ever extradited by Dominican Republic to the U.S. in such a short period.
Domínguez, who declined releasing the names of the extraditables, said they voluntarily agreed to serve out their various sentences in that country.
He lauded the extraditables’ decision "because in this manner the Justice Ministry will spend less in airfare, making it easy to deport those convicted on American soil."
