U.S. woman dies in east region collision, her husband hurt

Higuey, Dominican Republic.- An American tourist died and four people were injured, in a three-way collision in the Coral Highway Thursday afternoon. Among the wounded figure three Americans and one Dominican, as yet unidentified.
The accident reportedly occurred near the Benerito-Bayahibe exit, when a minibus with tourists was hit by a SUV, which also hit a truck.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET) said U.S. national Ashley Fraser died from injuries to various parts of the body, while her husband Melville Dwayne Herron, 53, was hospitalized with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
