17 fishermen missing off Puerto Plata for 3 days, Diario Libre reports

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.- 17 fishermen who headed out of the local port on November 29 have been reported missing, prompting the Dominican Navy to search the waters of the Atlantic coast.

The fishermen are aboard the 40-foot long boat Armany, which according to outlet diariolibre.com, apparently encountered rough seas off the coast, or capsized. “However, local maritime authorities have not reported the discovery of bodies.”

It’s believed that all occupants of the boat are men, although their place of residence has yet to be reported.
