Govt. announces controls against Ebola

Santo Domingo.- To keep the Ebola virus from entering Dominican territory, and adhering to guidelines from global health agencies, the Public Health Ministry and other entities announced the measures, especially ports, airports, border crossings, population and health centers.

Public Health minister Freddy Hidalgo announced the measures in a press conference at the Emergency Operations Center on Monday, and said the country has the capacity to monitor and respond as international health regulations stipulate.

He said despite that the probability that Ebola enters the country is remote, the contingency measures need to be maintained and above all, inform the population in a timely manner to avert panic.
