Magnitude 4.4 quake shakes Dominican Republic’s East

Santo Domingo.– A 4.4 magnitude quake shook the country’s East region in the afternoon, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported Tuesday.

The quake was felt strongly in La Romana at 5:52 pm, and also in San Pedro and El Seibo. Its epicenter was located at 9 kilometers west northwest of La Romana, in La Altagracia province, 18.47 North latitude and 69.05 West longitude, at a depth of 86.1 kilometers.

No damages or injuries have been reported.
