Senior military officers ‘will be charged’ in Peravia bank fraud

Santo Domingo. – 25 members of the military including senior officers will be charged in connection with the Peravia Bank fraud case, National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso affirmed Thursday.
The prosecutor said investigation has advanced into the fraud allegedly committed by Bank Peravia executives, some of whom have fled the country.
She also revealed that steps are being taken to include in the indictment the four Venezuelan pilots and two Dominican mechanics charged with the attempted robbery of a private jet reportedly owned by Venezuelan national José Luis Santoro, a former Peravia executive now a fugitive.
A Santo Domingo province court sent the four pilots and two Dominicans to three months pretrial detention.
