Constitutional reform officially proclaimed today

Santo Domingo.– National Assembly president Cristina Lizardo officially closed the work of the constitutional reform, with the 21-gun salute and the signing of the new text of the Dominican Constitution.

With the support of 28 senators and 116 deputies the Assembly proceeded to meet all constitutional rigors of proclamation. 67 deputies and 3 senators were absent on Saturday, June 13, 2015.

Victor Bisono and Carlos Castillo sent their excuses. In the ceremony Cristina Lizardo asked the Assembly to vote for the new reform, receiving 147 votes to 6, of a total of 153.
