Civic movement: Officials who didn’t file financial statement should be fired

Santo Domingo.- Thecivic movement Citizen Participation on Wednesday said the officials who failedto submit their financial statement to the Accounts Chamber should be fired,while the Justice Ministry reiterated that it named a commission to investigateeach case with transparency.

CitizenParticipation coordinator Candido Mercedes said Law 311-14 on disclosure of financialstatement states that failure to submit one is clearly a serious offense which “shouldautomatically lead to their dismissal, so there´s no interpretation.”

In that regardJustice minister Francisco Dominguez said they are evaluating each case todetect any illicit enrichment, but admitted “it´s difficult to enforce that law.”
