Embattled ex official fails to file financial statement: Auditor

Santo Domingo.- FormerState Works Supervisory Engineers Office (OISOE) director Miguel Pimentel Karehhas yet to file his financial statement after he was fired by president Danilo Medina on Aug. 16, revealed AccountsChamber president Licelot Marte on Wed.

She said an audit ofthe OISOE for the 2013-2014 period is nearly finished, which she affirms wasrequested by Pimentel.

The official said Pimentelfiled a financial statement when appointed at the OISOE, but has yet to complywith Law 311-14, by failing to submit another upon his exit. She said Pimentel should’vefiled the second statement within 30 days after leaving the post.

"There are casesthat aren’t documented and if there are no documents we cannot detect them andthen the Justice Ministry should investigate," Marte said during a meetingof the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions(OLACEFS).
