Trinidad rescues 22 Dominican women ´forced´ into prostitution: Efe
San Juan.- Trinidadand Tobago´s Human Trafficking Unit on Sunday arrested a Syrian and threeTrinidadians in connection with a people-smuggling network and found 22 womenof Dominican nationality, apparently forced into prostitution, Efe reports.
According to Trinidadianauthorities the arrests occurred in a nightclub in south of the country, wherethey found some of the women in the nude and others tied to a bed.
Authorities said thegroup of women entered the island illegally and were forced to work inprostitution.
The detainees weretaken to various police stations.
Trinidad and Tobagohas been cited by the US State Dept. as one of the Caribbean countries with humantrafficking networks.
