Pedro Verges appointed new president of OAS legal affairs committee
Santo Domingo.- Dominican Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) Pedro Verges assumed the presidency of the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs (CAJP).
The appointment took place on March 17, and according to a statement released in Santo Domingo, the CAJP is the most relevant and sensitive OAS commission, having under its responsibility the delicate task of studying the legal and political issues of the hemispheric forum.
Ambassador Verges’ new responsibility as president of the CAJP makes the country’s presence stand out more in the hemispheric scenario, allowing a better picture of the Dominican Republic in the international context.
