Public Works helps Public Health zap mosquito breeding sites

Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry on Monday announcedthat fumigated 210,966 homes and eliminated 31,894 mosquito breeding sites to supportthe Public Health Ministry’s effort to protect 1.5 million people against zika.

Public Works spokesman Jacobo Mateo said the fumigation andelimination of breeding sires were carried out in the National District and SantoDomingo and San Cristobal provinces over the last two weekends.

He said Public Health representatives took part in theoperations carried out in creek beds and alleyways and in places where PublicWorks had previously identified and all measures were taken to ensure totalcoverage.
