Antinarcotics links agents, military to 1,000K of cocaine
Santo Domingo.- Antinarcotics (DNCD) president José Eugenio Matos on Wed. said some of his agents and members of the military are involved in the 1,000 kilos of cocaine seized on a ship from Colombia at Haina port last week.
He said as many as five suspects have been identified in the case including the soldiers.
Matos, who didn’t reveal names or ranks, said they’ll be arraigned in the coming days. “We still don’t have the exact number, but we know that there are military and DNCD agents involved.”
The cocaine arrived in a container on the ship San Amérigo, but was dispatched by the authorities.
A source linked to the investigation quoted by El Dia revealed that the drug was mobilized by a network of Colombians, Venezuelans and Dominicans.
