Why have cardiovascular problems increased in young people under 30 in the DR?

Cardiovascular problems on the rise in Dominican youth.

The president of the Dominican Society of Cardiology revealed today that 37 percent of deaths occur in the country are caused by cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Claudia Almonte declared that currently, cardiovascular diseases arise in not only people of advanced age but also young people.

Going into more detail the doctor  explained “Cardiovascular disease has evolved because while tobacco smoking has decreased, there are more smokers of electronic cigarettes, a sedentary lifestyle, and high-saturated-fat foods,” said the specialist during an event where the guild laid a wreath at the Altar of the Fatherland to commemorate the 57 years of its foundation as of today.

Almonte further reported that there are many risk factors in addition to stress and economic situation, that have led to youth to suffer increased rates of hypertension.
