Truckers ‘in talks’ to avert Tuesday’s walkout

Santo Domingo.- The truckers union Fenatrado on Sun. said it’s in talks with the umbrella transport agency (Intrant), so the call for tomorrow’s walkout will depend on whether the govt. accepts its demands.
The truckers announced the strike to protest Intrant’s resolution banning worn tires or tires or with more than four years of manufacture.
“We met on Saturday with the director of the Intrant and part of her technical team and we raised our point of view regarding the resolution and we saw that the resolution in some points has problems of drafting according to their spirit, but those are the ones which create confusion,” the truckers said in a statement.
