Police have been posted around Congress again

Santo Domingo.- For the 4^th time in as many weeks dozens of police officers have again been deployed around Congress, while the deputies prepare to start the session scheduled for today.

There’s also heightened expectations for Wednesday after former president Leonel Fernandez’s call to a rally with his supporters at Congress, to oppose an amendment of the Constitution.

Though the legislature ends on July 26, there is uncertainty on the issue of amending the Constitution, since president Danilo Medina can extend it by executive order.
