Traffic cops start breathalyzer checkpoints as of Friday

Santo Domingo.- The National Traffic and Land Transport Institute (INTRANT), and the Land Transport Security Directorate (DIGESETT), on Wed. announced the start of breathalyzer checkpoints as of this Friday, to educate the citizenship on driving under the influence of alcohol.
“On Friday, August 9, DIGESETT agents will activate the breathalyzer checkpoints at which they will assess drivers to determine if they drive under the influence of alcohol in order to prevent more people from being injured or losing life by going behind the wheel in inappropriate conditions,” the agency said in a statement.
