Jean Suriel warns Dominican Republic is under the effects of Sahara dust
Santo Domingo – The meteorology expert Jean Suriel warned through his social networks that the Sahara dust cloud is currently over the Dominican Republic, “very dense and extensive, which could remain until Monday afternoon.”
He added, “The thermal sensation is very suffocating in a large part of the national territory due to the African particles suspended in the atmosphere.”
“This atmospheric phenomenon is also generating respiratory, ocular and skin allergies,” Suriel said in his X account.
Particulate matter will decrease in the DR on Monday afternoon. That day, tropical wave number 18 will approach Puerto Rico and impact the Dominican Republic on Tuesday with increased precipitation.
