Today’s weather: Opaque skies, little rain and very hot due to dust from the Sahara

The Dominican Institute of Meteorology informed us that sunny conditions with opaque skies and little precipitation activity are expected over our territory today, Sunday, due to the influence of an air mass with limited moisture content and the incursion of dust particles from the Sahara.
However, INDOMET does not rule out some clouds dragged by the moderate wind from the east/northeast and local effects generating isolated passing showers, especially over the provinces of María Trinidad Sánchez, Monseñor Nouel, Elías Piña, and San Juan during the afternoon hours.
Regarding maritime conditions, operators of fragile, small, and medium-sized vessels are advised to navigate cautiously without venturing out to sea due to wind and abnormal waves.
In addition, the institute recommends that the population drink enough fluids, wear light-colored clothes, and avoid exposure to the sun’s rays without proper protection between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. due to hot temperatures and the incidence of African dust.
