Interior Ministry closes three entertainment centers for law violations in Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of the Interior and Police has announced the closure of three entertainment venues in Santo Domingo as part of Operation Peace Guarantee, which targets law violations. An additional 28 businesses were notified for similar infractions. The closures were executed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Directorate (COBA), which cited violations such as obstructing public roads, selling alcohol after hours, causing noise pollution, and the presence of firearms.
The operation, conducted jointly with the National Police and other authorities, focused on neighborhoods including Villa Mella, Los Guaricanos, and Sabana Perdida in Santo Domingo Norte, as well as areas in San Cristóbal. The three establishments shut down were Colmado Jonathan for violating operating hours, VR Soluciones for obstructing the road, and Billar and Beauty, where firearms were discovered.
Sujey Ivonne Taveras, a representative of the Public Ministry, emphasized that the operation aims to reduce crime, address illegal gambling, and combat noise pollution.
