DR didn’t exist until the 1800s, so the islands before that was called Ayti. The original inhabitants were what we know today as Haitian. The Spanish came in (AFTER the French got their butts kicked out of Ayti), with the Americans and the French and forced Ayti to pay the French for “their loss”(give me a break!). Growing up as a child in Haiti, we celebrated the discovery on December 5, 1492. The area is now called Môle st nicholas in the north of Haiti. These are just facts, nothing controversial.
