Santo Domingo.- Dilia Leticia Jorge Mera, Administrative Vice Minister of the Presidency, has announced her resignation, effective January 1, 2025. In her statement, she expressed gratitude to President Luis Abinader and Ministers José Ignacio Paliza and Andrés Bautista for the opportunity to serve in public office, highlighting her work in fostering innovation, transparency, and citizen engagement over the past four years.
Jorge Mera shared her decision to return to private practice, focusing on family law, children’s and women’s rights, LGBTIQ+ advocacy, writing, academia, and social activism. She reflected on her public service with satisfaction, emphasizing her commitment to personal and professional growth.
Quoting her late father, Jorge Mera remarked, “Power is like a passing shadow,” as she prepares to transition from government service to her private endeavors.
