IDAC confirms Dominican airspace unaffected by rocket explosion

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC) assured the public that the country’s airspace remained safe despite the explosion of a rocket shortly after its launch from U.S. territory. According to IDAC, fragments of the rocket were detected but posed no threat to civil aviation or public safety in the Dominican Republic.

“We want to reassure the population that the spacecraft debris never endangered our airspace or citizens’ safety,” IDAC stated, emphasizing its ongoing monitoring of the situation since the incident occurred.

IDAC Director General Igor Rodríguez Durán reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to air safety, highlighting the immediate response by technicians from the Air Navigation Directorate. He also confirmed that all air operations are now running normally, underscoring IDAC’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of the national airspace.
