Duartiano Institute labels human traffickers as traitors to the nation

Santo Domingo.- As part of its annual “Cavalcade for the Homeland,” the Duartiano Institute honored the liberators of the Dominican Republic while addressing the issue of Haitian trafficking with irregular migratory status.

Wilson Gómez, president of the institute, denounced Dominicans involved in such practices, labeling them as “traitors to the country.” He urged the Public Prosecutor’s Office to take decisive action against these crimes, emphasizing that human trafficking is a severe threat to national sovereignty.

The event highlighted the need to combat illegal migrant trafficking, with the General Directorate of Migration already prosecuting seven individuals for related offenses in 2025. The institute reaffirmed its dedication to upholding patriotic values and enforcing the rule of law in the Dominican Republic.
