Refidomsa ensures LPG supply amid market delays
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Petroleum Refinery (Refidomsa) reaffirmed that it continues to operate and distribute Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) normally, supplying 40% of the national market. The company clarified that recent delays in some areas are due to logistical issues from other importers and distributors, not Refidomsa.
During La Semanal con la Prensa, a weekly press meeting led by President Luis Abinader, Refidomsa’s president, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, stated that while the refinery is not responsible for the delays, it is prepared to assist other market players if needed. He also denied claims of financial difficulties, emphasizing the company’s long-standing record of timely payments.
Aguilera highlighted the refinery’s expanded LPG storage capacity with four newly inaugurated spheres, each holding 60,000 barrels. This infrastructure increases storage from seven days to nearly a month, strengthening supply stability across the country.
