Santiago unveils 2025 carnival with renewed vision

Santiago de los Caballeros.- Santiago has officially relaunched its traditional carnival parade with a renewed focus on internationalization, innovation, and cultural celebration. The event, which aims to become “the best carnival in the country,” will take place over four Sundays from February 9 to March 2 at Parque Central, attracting thousands of locals, visitors, and tourists.

Authorities have implemented a comprehensive security plan involving the National Police, Civil Defense, and private security to ensure a safe and family-friendly experience. Mayor Ulises Rodríguez emphasized that the carnival reflects Santiago’s cultural pride and identity, while key figures such as Carlos Iglesias and José Reyes highlighted its role in social integration, tourism promotion, and economic contribution.

Governor Rosa Santos praised the collaborative effort behind the event, while Adalberto Rodríguez, head of the organizing committee, described it as an innovative and internationally oriented project. With this relaunch, Santiago aims to establish itself as a leading cultural and festive destination in the Dominican Republic.
