COE warns of deteriorating coastal conditions due to strong winds

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) has reported worsening sea conditions along the Dominican Republic’s coasts due to strong winds, based on a meteorological bulletin from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET). These adverse conditions are expected to persist for 48 to 72 hours.
On the Caribbean coast, vessel operators, particularly those with fragile, small, and medium-sized boats, are advised to navigate only near the shore. This warning is especially critical between Cabo San Rafael and Saona Island, where waves and abnormal winds pose a significant risk.
Similarly, on the Atlantic coast, vessel operators from Cabo San Rafael (La Altagracia) to Cabo Cabrón (Samaná) are urged to exercise caution and avoid offshore travel due to hazardous waves and strong winds. The COE advises the public to stay updated through official reports and follow safety instructions to prevent accidents in coastal areas.
