Dr. Fátima Pons leads ISFODOSU’s Project Sites Educativos 2025 cohort

Santo Domingo.- In a vibrant celebration of academic progress and community engagement, the FEM campus of ISFODOSU in Santo Domingo hosted a landmark event to honor centers participating in Project Sites Educativos and to launch its new 2025 cohort. At the heart of the occasion was Dr. Fátima Pons, the dynamic head of the Extension Division and project leader, whose vision and commitment to educational excellence were on full display.

The ceremony, held at the Auditorio Fuensanta Muñoz, brought together academic directors, district officials, educators, and administrative staff. Dr. Fátima Pons led the proceedings with remarkable energy, presenting the table of honor that included esteemed figures such as Academic Director professor Braulio de los Santos, who eloquently recounted the project’s evolution.

Originally designed to create educational murals, the initiative adapted during the pandemic to leverage technology for teacher training and regional engagement, sparking transformative change within the academic community.

Our early efforts in crafting educational murals have evolved into a technology-driven platform that empowers educators and connects communities.”

Highlighting the ethical dimension of education, professor Edell Escalante delivered an insightful presentation on “Ethics and Values in the Ministry of Education’s Code,” stressing that the infusion of ethics in teaching is essential for impactful and effective instruction. Meanwhile, professor Marcos Vega detailed the rigorous criteria—creativity, content quality, style, and user engagement—that determined the winners among the educational sites.

Certificates were awarded to participating centers, with Esteban Díaz Montero, Sabana Toro, and Santa Lucía de Camba recognized as the top winners. Special acknowledgments were also given to Dr. Fátima Pons, professor Máximo Castillo, and professor Raysa Lara for their outstanding contributions to the project.

The event further featured a captivating performance by the artistic group La Siembra Dance, led by professor Anita Pérez, whose demonstrations of merengue and urban rhythms added an energetic cultural flair to the celebration.
