Eduardo Estrella and Luis Miguel De Camps sworn in as Ministers of Public Works and Education

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader officially swore in Eduardo Estrella as Minister of Public Works and Communications and Luis Miguel De Camps as Minister of Education during a ceremony at the National Palace. Their appointments, established in Decree 48-25, were first announced by the president via his WhatsApp channel and later shared on his official social media accounts.
Eduardo Estrella: New Minister of Public Works
A civil engineer with extensive experience in infrastructure, Eduardo Estrella previously served as President of the Senate (2020-2023) and as Minister of Public Works (1991-1994). He has played a key role in major road and urban development projects. A graduate of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), he has also held positions such as Director of the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewerage (INAPA) and Undersecretary of Public Works.
Luis Miguel De Camps: New Minister of Education
Luis Miguel De Camps, formerly Minister of Labor (2020-2024), has led major reforms in labor and social security policies. Now heading the Ministry of Education, he is expected to implement modernization strategies for the country’s educational system. De Camps holds a law degree from PUCMM, an LL.M. from Georgetown University, and a postgraduate degree in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Harvard University.
