Brigades prevent flooding

Puerto Plata–The authorities launched a prevention plan to avoid flooding on these days of rainfall due to overflowing rivers, ravines, and other aquifers.

Cleaning brigades began a day of removing garbage, plastics, and various objects, including vehicle tires and wood, that had been deposited inside caches and banks of streams.

They indicated that sediment extractor trucks and mechanical shovels have been used. The work would prevent subsequent damage with the downpours.

Mayor Diómedes Roque García (Roquelito) said, “We are alert to the rains that have returned to our town in case there are floods to come to the aid of those affected.”
