U.S. and Dominican Republic launch higher education partnership initiative

Santo Domingo.- The U.S. Embassy in Santo Domingo, in partnership with the Dominican American Cultural Institute (UNICDA), has launched the U.S.-Dominican Republic Higher Education Working Group, a platform designed to strengthen academic cooperation between the two nations. The initiative aims to enhance student and faculty mobility, encourage joint research, and support the internationalization of Dominican higher education institutions.

Held at the UNICDA campus, the launch event gathered members of the Dominican University Internationalization Network (RIUD-ADRU), including university leaders and international program coordinators. During the meeting, the group unveiled its first major project: Strengthening Academic Partnerships between the United States and the Dominican Republic. Funded by the U.S. Embassy, the 18-month program is led by the University of South Florida (USF) in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), and will include faculty exchanges, workshops, and strategy development based on the ACE’s Comprehensive Internationalization Framework.
