Dominican Menina “Quisqueya La Bella” unveiled at Mirador Sur Park

Santo Domingo.- The Punta Cana Energy Consortium (CEPM), Evergo, and the Mayor’s Office of the National District unveiled the sculpture “Quisqueya La Bella” at Mirador Sur Park. Designed by Dominican artist Marie Elena Estrada, the artwork was previously featured in the renowned “Meninas Madrid Gallery,” the world’s largest urban art exhibition.

The unveiling ceremony was led by Mayor Carolina Mejía and Roberto Herrera, country manager of InterEnergy Group, which owns CEPM and Evergo. Herrera described the sculpture as a symbol of the energy that defines Quisqueya, representing its natural beauty, creativity, and hope. The Menina now stands in one of Santo Domingo’s most visited public spaces, dedicated to sports and community life.

This is the fourth Menina created by a Dominican artist for the international series. Previous editions included works by Isabella Fernández, Taína Almodóvar, and Angurria. Estrada’s piece combines patriotic elements such as national colors, the Larimar stone, music, and landscapes to celebrate the spirit and identity of the Dominican Republic.
