The Expedia Group celebrates Global Day of Caring in Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – September 9, 2016– The Expedia group, one of the world’s leading travel companies, is proud to takepart in the company’s first official Expedia Cares event in Santo Domingo onSeptember 9 at the Activities Hall of the Robert Reid Children’s Hospital.Expedia Cares is part of a global company initiative that encourages Expediaemployees to pursue philanthropic initiatives, help charitable organizationsthrive and serve their communities.
This year, Expedia’s local Dominican Republic team joinsefforts with the HADA Foundation, a nonprofit organization that seeks to bringhope to patients of all ages suffering from cancer in the Dominican Republic.The team will spend a joyous afternoon with the children of the Robert Reid Hospitalenjoying a musical concert together and sharing refreshments and gifts. As partof their participation, Expedia will also be donating a set of drums tocontribute to the child orchestra that the HADA Foundation is in the process ofbuilding.

Expedia Cares is a part of Expedia’s Global Day of Caring,a companywide program where teams participate in their respective Day of Caringthroughout the Month of Giving (September), where thousands of Expediaemployees across the world volunteer with nonprofits in their localcommunities. In 2015 at the fourth annual volunteering event, more than 4,000Expedia employees, representing offices from 39 countries volunteeredthroughout the Month of Giving. Collectively, the company’s employees were ableto volunteer over 1,600 hours at close to 150 global projects.
