Nathalie Hazim returns with meringue

Some of the best news of this first month of the year is the return to music of Dominican singer-songwriter Nathalie Hazim, after a temporary retirement of two years.
The artist has released a merengue to music platforms, the result of the inspiration that motivated her to return to the stage.
It is “Amor bonito,” with production and arrangements by Alex Mansilla.
“You have to do many different things around art to be able to survive on a musical level. That and other issues made me say in 2023: I can’t take it anymore. I need to take some time to know where I’m going to take my career. But above all, to be honest with my lyrics,” Nathalie said in an interview with HOY.
The singer-songwriter added that in that two-year hiatus many things happened to her, but one day a friend gave her a notebook and she began to write down everything she could not say to the people who were no longer there and to those who are still around her.
“Between sadness, pain, anger, and in the midst of emotional healing, I found what gives me peace and joy, and I loved music again. That’s why I’m back, to give people something different,” Hazim said, referring to his new single, the merengue “Un amor bonito.”
He stressed that this process has been a second chance: “I have returned to love music and discover something that I did not know existed, a beautiful love, a merengue that has been a blessing for me.
One of the friends who motivated her to record this song was the singer-songwriter Pavel Núñez, who when telling her about the project, told her: “It’s your turn to sing merengue.”
“So it’s a privilege to do something that has to do with my country. To carry the rhythm that gives joy to the Dominican and to be able to transmit my story through this song. A song that is made to fall in love and dedicate to, and show that we are all worthy of having a beautiful love.”
Renowned musicians such as Juan De La Cruz (Chocolate) on drums, Luis Mojica on congas, and Sandy Gabriel on saxophones participated in the recording, who provide a vibrant and authentic sound.
With “Amor bonito,” Nathalie Hazim celebrates her Dominican roots.
