Alexander Ogando wins 200m at Diamond League in Brussels

Brussels, Belgium.- Dominican sprinter Alexander Ogando added another major achievement to his career by winning the 200-meter race at the Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium, on Friday. The 24-year-old clocked 20.16 seconds, edging out American Robert Gregory (20.19) and Nigerian Udodi Onwuzurike (20.29).

This victory further cements Ogando’s rise in global athletics and highlights his role as one of Latin America and the Caribbean’s top sprinting talents. His performance continues to bring pride to the Dominican Republic on the international stage.

Originally from San Juan de la Maguana, Ogando has already made his mark as part of the Dominican 4x400m mixed relay team, winning gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2022 World Championships in Oregon.
