Sahara dust is coming, cover up

Santo Domingo.- Dominicans face threats to health from the Sahara desert’s imminent arrival of airborne dust, as the particles can cause respiratory infections, especially in children and the elderly; flu, allergy, and intense heat, experts warn.

They warn that there will be serious threats of respiratory diseases and high blood pressure, and life-threatening conditions. They urge covering the nose and eyes, drink plenty of water and consultant to the doctor if symptoms emerge.

Quoted by hy.com.do, Juan Bosch Hospital Neurology Dept. director Dr. Maribel Jorge, warns that the Sahara dust could cause health problems from its particles laden with bacteria, viruses, and pesticides as well.
