Oil leak peeves townsfolk as Environment investigates

Falcondo. File

Santo Domingo.- The Environment Ministry launched an investigation into the fuel oil spill from a pipeline of the miner Falcondo in a district of San Cristóbal province (south).

Environment spokeswoman Julia Ramírez said technicians were sent to the site and render a report afterwards.

Quita Sueño mayor, Antonio Brito said the fuel leak is in the pipeline from that town to the mining company Falcondo, in central Monseñor Noel province.

He added that as soon as the authorities saw what was happening, they informed Falcondo, which “hasn’t done anything.”
