Vice President Peña and Minister Bonilla inaugurate Archery Range at Parque del Este

Santo Domingo.- Vice President Raquel Peña and Housing Minister Carlos Bonilla officially inaugurated the newly renovated Archery Range at Parque del Este, a project valued at RD$43 million. Designed to meet international standards for high-performance sports, the facility marks a major step in the preparations for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.

The upgraded complex includes a new 11,532-square-meter shooting range with seating for 456 spectators, modern administrative offices, locker rooms, a gym, judges’ booth, public cafeteria, and improved infrastructure such as lighting, plumbing, and accessibility features. Athletes had waited over two decades for improvements to the range.

Delivered a year ahead of schedule, the facility will allow athletes to train under optimal conditions and help position the Dominican Republic as a serious contender in Olympic-level archery.
