Medina cuts ribbon on US$35.0M resort in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata.- PresidentDanilo Medina on Friday headed ribbon cutting on the first stage of the 7-storyresort tower Blue Jack Tar, Condor Hotel in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata and alsobroke ground for its second stage, to be built at a cost of US$35.0 million.

Accompanied byTourism minister Francisco Javier Garcia, the president was slated to visit Sosuatownship at 11am, where local business leader Cuqui Silverio, on behalf ofinvestors, hailed the government´s support for the region´s development.

He said the fivefamilies involved in the project piqued other investors´ interest, adding that asof Blue Jack Tar, of Viva Windham Hotels will start operating in December.
