Govt. approves 385 charter flights from Europe

Santo Domingo.- The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) on March 2 approved385 charter flights in addition to the 1,255 confirmed previously.

The new flights are expected to bring large numbers oftourists from several German and British cities from May to October.

Among the 210 operations approved by the JAC’s figure ThompsonAirways Limited, covering routes from London and Manchester to Punta Cana andPuerto Plata.

Also from Manchester, the carrier Thomas Cook will conduct57 direct flights to Punta Cana.

Non-scheduled passenger flights were also approved for Alitaliafrom Rome and for Plus Ultra from Madrid, in the Dominican internationalairports at La Romana and Santo Domingo

Moreover German airline Eurowings was authorized to operate78 weekly charter flights from Cologne, Germany to Puerto Plata and Punta Cana.
