Arajet opens new route to New York

Santo Domingo.- Tourism Minister David Collado announced the launch of a new air route between the Dominican Republic and New York, operated by Dominican airline Arajet. Celebrating the inaugural flight, Collado described it as the beginning of “a new era in Dominican aviation,” highlighting the benefits of increased travel options, lower fares, and stronger connectivity with one of the largest Dominican communities abroad.
Speaking on social media, Collado emphasized that the route will boost both tourism and support for Dominicans living in the U.S., stating, “More seats, better prices, greater demand, more tourism, and well-being for residents and tourists.” He noted the immediate competitive impact, as another airline quickly responded by offering flights to New York for under US$215.
