Arajet asumes co-presidency of ALTA Flight Safety and Operations Committee

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) has appointed Herman Schumacher, Vice President of Safety and Quality Operations at Arajet, as co-chair of its Flight Safety and Operations Committee. The announcement comes ahead of the ALTA Aviation Safety, Flight Ops & Training Summit, one of the region’s premier aviation safety events.
Schumacher’s appointment recognizes his distinguished career, leadership, and dedication to advancing safety standards in regional aviation. As co-chair, he will help lead the committee’s efforts to identify and mitigate operational risks across Latin America and the Caribbean.
ALTA praised Schumacher’s contributions to the aviation sector and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the industry through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practices. The Flight Safety and Operations Committee serves as a technical forum for airline operators, regulators, and experts to enhance safety, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainability.
The committee meets annually at the Summit and holds regular sessions throughout the year to maintain continuous, coordinated work among aviation leaders. ALTA emphasized that diverse expertise and peer collaboration are key to achieving its mission of fostering a safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible air transport industry in the region.
