Santo Domingo.-  From “three pineapples for a 100” to “cold water for 10,” most of the throng of vendors at all intersections along the busy artery Febrero 27 Av., are Haitian nationals, and increasingly take over the service of moto-taxis known as motoconcho.

Outlet listin.com.do reports that the vast majority of the that hawk strawberries, sandals, candy, soft drinks, scarves and underwear are Haitians.

Although a few vendors place their wares on the sidewalks, most peddlers walk up to the motorists in their vehicles stopped at traffic lights to offer their merchandise.
