Medina cuts ribbon for US$25.0M Downtown Mall Punta Cana

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Thurs. headed the inauguration of the Downtown Mall Punta Cana, whose construction began four years ago and is expected to boost tourism in the country’s east region.

The 3-story Mall built at a cost of US$25.0 million is on 27,000 square meters; has the country’s first surfing pool and features corporate, commercial, entertainment and amusement areas.

“This area requires investments that improve the quality of life of residents and visitors,” said Mall director Miguel Ricart, adding that in the short time since opening, has received 200,000 people per month.
